Empty legs

One-way flights below the charter price.

When an aircraft has to fly empty to its next job, the operator sells that leg at a discount. The whole aircraft, the operator named, the price shown.

Private jet charter, answered

Ask a specialist
What does Altivo Jets do?+

Altivo Jets is a charter broker. You tell us the trip, we check which licensed operators have a suitable aircraft, and we send you options with the operator named and the full price. The operator flies the aircraft; we arrange and manage the booking.

How much does a private jet cost?+

You pay for the whole aircraft by the flight hour. A light jet typically charters for $5.5k to $9.8k an hour in the US, ₹2.5L to ₹3.5L in India, £3.5k to £5.5k in the UK and €4.1k to €6.5k in France; a heavy jet for $15.1k to $18.5k, ₹7L to ₹10L, £9k to £14k or €10.6k to €16.5k. Each country site shows its own prices in the local currency. Positioning, crew overnights, airport charges and taxes are added for the exact trip.

Why is there a separate site for each country?+

Charter rules, operators, taxes and currencies differ from country to country. Each country site lists only that country's licensed operators and aircraft, with prices in the local currency and the local taxes shown before you book.

Who actually flies me?+

A licensed operator holding its own country's air operator certificate, for example an FAA Part 135 or Part 121 air carrier in the United States or the holder of a DGCA Non-Scheduled Operator Permit in India. The operator's name is on your quote and your charter agreement.

How quickly can I fly?+

Most charters can be arranged within 24 hours. Peak holidays, festivals and big events need a week or more, and helicopter flights in the hills depend on daylight and weather.

What is an empty leg?+

An aircraft flying empty to its next job, sold at a discount on that route and date. Empty legs suit flexible travellers; the operator can move or cancel them if the original trip changes.
